This Arkansas DAAS ElderChoices Waiver Program was developed in 1991 to assist the senior population who require nursing home level care. ElderChoices allows eligible seniors to remain in their homes or live with family or in their community and receive home care services instead of having to move to an assisted living facility or nursing home.
Qualifying for ElderChoices
In order to be eligible to receive ElderChoices benefits, you must be an Arkansas resident that is 65 years or older that requires nursing home level care and is qualified to receive Medicaid.
Qualifying for Medicaid is a complicated process, but Absolute Care Management can help you navigate the complex waters of this government system. To qualify for Medicaid, there will be a review of your family income and assets. Medicaid will also review any asset transfers going back as far as five years. Generally, in order to qualify, your monthly income cannot be in excess of $2,022 and your countable resources cannot exceed $2,000 or $3,000 for a married couple. Countable resources do not include your home or car.
Qualifying for Medicaid can ease the financial burden of receiving long term care and help a senior gain peace of mind, a more comfortable lifestyle and in some cases a better state of health, as the stresses of not qualifying for this much needed assistance can have a very negative impact on the physical and mental health of an individual. This is where Absolute Care Management can help. Our staff of Medicaid Professionals can remove all your stresses and confusion by helping you get the benefits to which you are so richly entitled.
